Research:
It has been shown in in vitro studies on colorectal cancer cells, and in vivo studies in mice with induced colorectal cancer, the anti-cancer activity of the Heterobasidion annosum extract – a fungus commonly found in the world, and known to date as a pathogen, causing losses in European forests of approx. 800 million euros per year.

Research:
Preparation of a composition based on the extract of Pappia fissilis (synonym: Tyromyces fissilis) as the first medicine of natural origin for the treatment of American Fulbrood – a bacterial disease caused by Paenibacillus larvae, without side effects and any harm to both bees and humans.

Award in the category Discovery in the PODLASKA MARKA Competition2019, for Bialystok University of Technology and the Medical University of Bialystok, for research on the biological activity of the fungi of the Białowieża Forest, concerning potential medical properties.
PODLASKA MARKA is one of the oldest and most prestigious plebiscites held in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, organized by the Marshal of the Podlaskie Voivodeship.
Special award in the category SCIENCE FOR LIFE in the Innovation Competition 2018, for Bialystok University of Technology and the Medical University of Białystok, for pioneering research on the use of Heterobasidion annosum in medicine.
“Innovation” is a ranking promoting modern solutions and unusually thinking people from the Podlaskie Voivodeship, organized by Kurier Poranny and the Polish Federation of Engineering Associations FSNT–NOT.
